The body invites us into relationship with it. It speaks through sensation and this is how we begin to “listen” to the body. We don’t need to overcomplicate it and just noticing your body moving in and out of these 3 states is a great start. It can also be experience multiple states at once, hence why it’s helpful to not perceive it a global experience but rather parts of you experiencing different states.

When I first began this practice it was overwhelming because so much sensation wanted to be felt, I would get flooded. It helped me a lot to just be with one body part or one sensation at a time instead of trying to feel it all. “Healing” doesn’t have to be these huge cathartic moments.. it can be many tiny moments throughout the day of noticing what the body is saying and what experience it’s inviting your awareness into.
